Tartan Spartans in Scotland squad call-up for Welsh friendly

Scotland logoScotland National Team Coach Anna Signeul has included Spartans Women’s duo Rachel Harrison and Kerry Montgomery in her squad for Sunday’s friendly international against Wales in Dumfries (1pm KO).

In-form Harrison is one of four goalkeepers in the 25 strong woman squad whilst striker Montgomery receives a call-up for the first time. (more…)

Spartans left frustrated as ‘ghost goal’ helps guide Glasgow to victory

2O2A2092Lady luck deserted a spirited Spartans in a six goal thriller against league leaders Glasgow City as the second half of the SWPL got underway at Ainslie Park.

A double from Sarah Ewens and a phenomenal display between the sticks by Rachel Harrison – who joins striker Kerry Montgomery in the Scotland camp ahead of next Sunday’s Challenge Match against Wales at Palmerston Park in Dumfries.

It’s back! SWPL returns as Spartans welcome Glasgow City

Screen Shot 2014-01-04 at 16.13.12After the summer recess, it’s back to business for Debbi McCulloch’s Spartans as they welcome Glasgow City to Ainslie Park in the opening weekend of the post-split SWPL season.

Spartans head into the second half of the season in 5th place, just two points behind Celtic who occupy 3rd spot.

Shelley Branches Out

Shelley Kerr who had a successful spell at Spartans as a player and head coach has opened an exciting new football services website. During her playing career Kerr won every domestic honour in Scotland and played in the UEFA Women’s Cup. She also represented Doncaster Rovers Belles in England.Shelley a former Scotland captain winning 59 caps between 1989 and 2008 is available for coaching consultancy, scouting services and media services.
