Spartans head into Wednesday night’s rescheduled SWPL clash v Rangers keen to build on recent results which have seen Debbi McCulloch’s side inflict Glasgow City’s first domestic defeat in some six years and also reach the Scottish Cup semi final after beating Inverness at home last weekend. Spartans welcome fellow SWPL side Inverness City to Ainslie Park this Sunday as the knock-out stages of this season’s Scottish Cup reach the business end of the tournament.
Debbi McCulloch’s side go into the tie on the back of one of the biggest upsets in the domestic game for some six years, last weekend’s win on the road to Glasgow City, however the Spartans Manager notes there will be no room for complacency against Sunday’s opponents. (more…)
After a dramatic semi-final penalty shoot-out win against Jeanfield Swifts, Spartans u/17s head to St Andrews on Saturday where they take on Forfar Farmington in the Final of the League Cup.
For Spartans Head Coach Nichola Sturrock, it’s a shot at silverware her side have deserved following a strong showing in the Group stages. “I’ve been very impressed by the attitude of the players and the talent on the pitch. Myself and the other Coaches are more than aware of what our girls are capable of and we head into Saturday’s Final on merit.” (more…)

“It has to go down as one of the best days of my managerial career so far.” That’s how Spartans boss Debbi McCulloch described her side’s victory over Glasgow City, the first SWPL defeat for the SWPL leaders in almost six years.
The solitary 54th minute goal from Captain Katie Reilly was enough to separate the sides at the Excelsior Stadium and close the gap on fourth place Celtic who could only draw 2-2 on the road at Aberdeen. (more…)
Spartans head to the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie on Sunday looking to inflict Glasgow City’s first defeat of the season at the third time of asking.
The Ainslie Park side have impressed the neutrals during their previous two encounters with City, with narrow defeats at home showing the progress Debbi McCulloch and her squad have made since last season. (more…)
