McCulloch sees net gain as Ewens sticks with Spartans

2O2A0462Spartans Manager Debbi McCulloch has spoken of her delight at having Sarah Ewens continue to spearhead the SWPL side’s attacking force as the sensational striker pledges another year at the Ainslie Park side.

With 102 in just 121 appearances, Ewens’ unique pathway to goal has saw her become only the second player in the team’s history to break through the hundred goal barrier. (more…)

Tis the season to B jolly! Spartans duo in UEFA Licence course success

debandnicSpartans are celebrating further success this weekend with the news that Coaching duo Debbi McCulloch and Nichola Sturrock have both passed their SFA UEFA B Licence course.

The pair set out on their journey in February at Toryglen and under the watchful eye of Donald Park, the SFA’s Head Coach of Education, their time, energy, effort and dedication has certainly paid off. (more…)

Spartans show support for the Edinburgh Evening News #shockinglyeasy campaign

debbi defibSpartans Manager Debbi McCulloch has described how she is proud to support the Edinburgh Evening News’ “Shockingly Easy” campaign as she took the ‘pledge’ to spread the word about the appeal in order to raise awareness of the life-saving pieces of equipment.

The campaign, in memory of 13-year-old Jamie Skinner, aims to put a defibrillator in every sports centre in the Lothians. More than £30,000 has already been raised – enough to buy more than 20 of the heartstart machines – and more donations are pouring in all the time. (more…)

McCulloch unveils two new signings at Ainslie Park

debbiduo Spartans Manager Debbi McCulloch has unveiled two close season signings as the SWPL Manager of the Year begins her preparations for the 2015 campaign.

With a 4th place league finish and an inaugural Scottish Cup Final appearance in 2014, McCulloch has bolstered her squad with two exciting new recruits in Michelle Russell and Nicola Mawson.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, buy yours at the Spartans Academy!

tree ribbonThis year City Park Trees will be selling Nordman Fir Christmas Trees at The Spartans Community Football Academy.

Europe’s top selling tree, it’s long lasting, retains needles and is ideal for those with allergies.  The Nordman Fir’s durability results in a exquisite long lasting tree and will come supported in a traditional log base.

Sales begin on Monday 1st of December and will end on Saturday 22nd of December.  Opening times for you to pop down to the Academy to pick your tree are Monday to Friday 10am to 10pm and Saturday/Sunday 9am to 6pm.  Trees are available in two sizes 6ft (£50.00) and 7ft (£55.00) and can be delivered locally by calling City Park Trees on 07591 068509.

A donation to The Spartans Community Football Academy (Scottish Registered Charity) will be made from every sale.
