Russell double steers Spartans to win over Stirling

Photograph-8A penalty from Alana Marshall & a brace from Michelle Russell saw Spartans make it an early season double over Stirling University in a frantic encounter at Ainslie Park.

 

With three games in seven days, Manager Suzy Shepherd reshuffled her pack with returns to the starting line-up for Louise Mason & Danni Pagliarulo as Spartans looked to bounceback from recent defeats to Rangers and City. (more…)

Under 13s: Haribo in Haddington for winning Whites

Sunday saw the Under 13s Whites travel to East Lothian to play a friendly against Haddington athletic, writes Alan Woodrow

A very close and hard fought first half saw Spartans 2-1 up at the break. A fine strike from Jessica and a debut goal from Charlotte gave us a deserved lead. However, Haddington were causing us problems with their neat passing and a few good saves from Eva were needed throughout the half. (more…)

5 goal Maddie magic breaks young Hearts in u13s League Cup win

13s AprilIn what’s been a really stop start season so far for the Under 13s, the Girls played Hearts Whites in the last 16 of the League Cup on Sunday and ran out 7-4 winners.
Coach Alan Woodrow writes,
“We started slowly but once we settled we got a 2-0 lead. Hearts hit back with a really good goal but the last 15 minutes on the half seen us score three without loss to extend our lead to 5-1.

Spartans narrowly lose out as Goalie and Foley win game for Rangers

Logo1A solitary strike was enough to see Spartans fall to their first SWPL defeat of the season at a blustery New Tinto Park against Rangers Ladies.

 

Whilst footballing events were unfolding dramatically elsewhere in Glasgow, Spartans were looking to continue their winning ways against a Rangers side keen to bounce back from their midweek defeat against city rivals Celtic. (more…)
