Striker Galbraith Agrees Contract

We are delighted to announce that Spartans Striker Rebecca Galbraith has signed a one year semi-professional contract with the club. Galbraith was Spartans top goal scorer last season finding the back of the net on 15 occasions. This will be Galbraith’s fourth season with the club and one which the 32 year old is very much looking forward to.

 

After signing her first semi-professional contract, Galbraith said: “It is an honor to become one of the first  semi-professional players at Spartans F.C. Women. To be part of the history of this club makes me so proud”.

McCafferty Signs Two Year Deal

Spartans F.C. Women are thrilled to announce that SWNT U19’s defender Robyn McCafferty has signed her first semi-pro two year deal with the club. McCafferty joined Spartans back in December 2018 from Hibernian Girls Academy and since then has featured in 44 SWPL 1 games for the club.

 

Robyn has become a regular within Debbi McCulloch’s side over the past two seasons and has proven her worth by displaying several mature and solid defensive performances.

Spartans in safe hands with Harrison

Spartans Women F.C. are in safe hands for the forthcoming SWPL 1 season with GK Rachel Harrison signing a one year semi-pro contract with the club. With the highest number of competitive appearances of any Spartans Women F.C. player (196 in total), Harrison adds further invaluable experience to Debbi McCulloch’s side.

Alana Marshall signs Semi-Pro Contract

Spartans F.C. Women are delighted to announce Alana Marshall has become the club’s first ever semi-pro player having signed a one year deal.

 

Marshall was a key player of Debbi McCulloch’s squad last season and will continue in her role of Captain. With 20 appearances and 4 goals in season 2020/21, the 34-year-old continues to impress and have positive impact in SWPL 1.

Simpson Returns Home

Spartans Women are delighted to announce the signing of full back Ellie Simpson. The 22-year-old joins Spartans from Stirling University where she played in last seasons Scottish Women’s Premier League 2.

 

 

Spartans Manager Debbi McCulloch said “I’m really pleased to have secured Ellie’s signature for the forthcoming season. She is a player who we have kept an eye on over the past four years since she left Spartans so we undoubtedly know that she will be a great addition to our squad and add value in a key area where we needed additional competition.”

 

Speaking to SpartansFCWomen, Ellie said “I’m absolutely delighted to have signed with Spartans for the upcoming season. It was firstly an opportunity I couldn’t pass up as it holds such a special place in my heart – it’s where I started my football and I hold so many amazing memories here. Meeting with Debbi really highlighted the fantastic set up and support available up at The Academy and it is so great to see first hand the club growing from strength to strength.”

Spartans been drawn in Group C of the SWPL Cup alongside Glasgow City, Hamilton and Glasgow Women.

 

Debbi McCulloch’s side will kick off their fixtures hosting newly promoted Hamilton at Ainslie Park on August 8th.
