Spartans welcomed Rangers to Ainslie Park hoping for a boost to their top six bid, knowing a tough afternoon in store against the defending champions. However, Debbi McCulloch’s side entered the game with plenty belief, two wins from two and picking up two clean sheets in the process.

Spartans secured the three points in Coatbridge as the Edinburgh outfit turned on the pressure in the second half, scoring two goals to climb to 6th in the table. The game proved to be a milestone night with both Robyn McCafferty and Becky Galbraith making their 100th appearance for Spartans, the former marking the occasion with the captains armband.
Spartans head into the midweek fixture card with three points under their belt. The side securing a 1-0 win at home to round off a solid performance for the Edinburgh outfit over Dundee United on Sunday.
