We are delighted to announce that Amelie Birse has signed a contract extension, keeping her in the capital for the 23/24 season.

The 18 year-old has featured 26 times this season for Debbi McCulloch’s side, after making the switch across Edinburgh joining the club from Hearts back in August 2022.

Amelie scored her first goal for the club in a 2-1 win over Aberdeen. The striker pouncing on a loose ball to fire home at the back post.

After putting pen-to-paper, the striker said:
“I’m delighted to have re-signed for Spartans. I feel I’ve had a strong first season but believe I have a lot more I can offer the group as we push towards our collective goals. I want to be part of that and help the team achieve success. I’ve developed a lot this year and I’m excited to see what next season brings.”

Amelie and the rest of the squad are back in action on Wednesday night, travelling to Hamilton in hopes of keeping the momentum going, the side now unbeaten in seven.
