Spartans FC can today confirm that striker Becky Galbraith will depart the club at the end of the season.
Becky has made 142 appearances for the club, scoring 62 goals across her time in the capital. Becky is a hugely popular and inspirational player at Ainslie Park both on and off the pitch, her important goal contributions in key games making the striker a fast fan-favourite amongst the Spartan Army.
Becky signs off with the club having another successful goal scoring season with the team, having crucial goal involvements throughout the club’s journey to the Scottish Cup Semi-Final, scoring the decisive goal in the fourth round win over Aberdeen then scoring a hat-trick as the squad secured a trip to Hampden with a 5-0 win over Livingston.
On her decision to depart the club, Becky had the below message, for all who have been a part of her time in red and white:
“Leaving Spartans has been a very tough decision. However, I leave with a wealth of unforgettable memories and achievements. To the players, staff, and supporters, thank you. You have all helped me to become the player I always wanted to be. Nothing is possible without a team of good people. To the Spartans girls, thank you. Keep playing, keep dreaming big, and let’s keep growing the women’s game.
