A long range effort from Ronaigh Douglas that crashed home in off the bar saw Spartans go into the break with a slender advantage in the swirling wind at Ainslie Park against Hearts.
The second half saw Debbi McCulloch’s side continually press and it was midway through the period when Kat Smart swooped like a seagull on chips to pounce and slide home from six yards following an Alana Marshall corner.
There was drama shortly after when Hearts goalkeeper Parker-Smith raced out of her box and became the second shot-stopper in as many weeks to be outfoxed by Becky Galbraith and she was sent to the sheds after bringing down the Spartans striker.
From the resultant free-kick, Michaela McAlonie let fly from 20 yards to send the ball beyond Lia Tweedie who stepped up to take over between the sticks.
