Lynsey Cowan’s Reserves kick-off their SWFL 2nd Division South East / West campaign at Ainslie Park against Seton Ladies with Cowan keen to get an inaugural league win under her belt.
After taking over the baton from Walter McGill ahead of the 2015 season, Cowan has taken the time over pre-season to bring her side together ahead of the opening game. She said, “I like to hope we get the season off to a positive start today against Seton Ladies, especially with us being on our home patch too.
“The girls have shown an air of confidence around the training pitch this week and it’s great to see fantastic numbers, offering real competition for places too.
“We’ve got a fantastic blend of youth and experience in the squad this season, with U/17s making the move up, new players coming in and of course, maintaining a good balance of experienced players to bring things together as well.”
Cowan will understandably be looking for a morale boosting win to start the season and is looking forward to getting things underway.
“We can’t underestimate Seton and I’m sure they’ll be similar to us in having strengthened their squad during the close season and we look forward to another tough challenge.
“It’s been a patient build up to the opening game of the season and I’m certain that the hard work in pre-season, training and in the player’s personal development will pay off come kick-off and we get off to a winning start.”
Kick-Off v Seton Ladies is at Noon on the Community Pitch.
