A late Katie Reilly headed goal was scant consolation for Spartans who ended their SWPL campaign with a 4-1 defeat against Hibs Ladies at Albyn Park.
Prior to the match, Hibs Captain Joelle Murray presented Debbi McCulloch with a bouquet of flowers as a token of appreciation for the Spartans Manager’s contribution to the Women’s game in Scotland.
Hibs kicked off the final game of the SWPL 2015 campaign in unseasonably sunny conditions at Albyn Park with both sides looking to end their respective campaigns on a high.
The opening half hour was, it would be best to describe, one for the purists, with neither side troubling the keepers at either end.
Then, with 32 minutes on the clock, Hibs took the lead. Chloe Arthur collecting a cross-field cross and her shot was unfortunately deflected into her own net by the outstretched leg of Mawson.

Almost on the hour mark, Hibs doubled their lead. A beehive of activity inside the visitors penalty box before the ball fell to Lia Tweedie who slotted home.
A fine save by Eartha Cumings denied Lizzie Arnot, diving low to push a powerful 18 yard drive round the post.
Hibs further extended their lead in the 73rd minute when a long range effort from Kirsty Smith deceived an unlucky Cumings facing the low setting sun.
With four minutes left on the clock, Spartans pulled a goal back through Katie Reilly. The Captain rising above the static Hibs defence to bullet her header into the back of the net.
Deep into injury time, Siobhan Hunter restored Hibs three goal advantage with a header from a corner.
