The Women’s section started in 2008 when Premier League side Edinburgh Ladies coached by Carson Ralton and Walter McGill joined the Spartans family along with Scottish League team Royal High Thistle to provide a player pathway for the Spartans youth girls section.
Edinburgh Ladies had been in existence for two years winning the Scottish Premier League Cup in the 2006/07 season and finishing third in 2006 and fourth in 2007 in the Scottish Women’s Premier League. Previously life started in the Premier League under the name of Whitehill Welfare in 2004.
