Goals from Sarah Clelland, Becky Galbraith and Michaela McAlonie saw Spartans defeat Motherwell 3-1 at a sun soaked Ainslie Park.

Clelland’s sublime strike saw her open the scoring however the visitors levelled proceedings shortly after.

Galbraith slid in bravely to poke the ball beyond the keeper to regain her side’s lead on the half hour mark.

Midway through the second half, McAlonie entered the fray from the bench and made an almost immediate impact when she latched on to a long ball from Alana Marshall to lob the advancing keeper and send it into the empty net.
