Spartans set out to make history on Sunday when they face Aberdeen at Ravenscraig Sports Centre in a bid to reach the Scottish Cup Final for the first time.
Debbi McCulloch’s side head into the second of the semi-finals taking place inside the Motherwell based dome on Sunday looking to make it four wins in a row against the girls from the Granite City.
Spartans Manager Debbi McCulloch is familiar with danger her opponents pose, in what promises to be an exciting afternoon of tense cup drama.
“Sunday’s game comes at a good time for us, with the momentum of a five match winning streak behind us. However, as any manager will tell you, form goes out the window in a cup game, especially when the prize of a place in the Final is at stake.
“We know what it’s like to be defeated by Aberdeen already this season and they deserved that win. However, since then, we’ve bounced back and beaten them three times in a row – twice on the road too. Last time out, we played them at home on a similar surface to the one at Ravenscraig, which should suit us.
“We need to make sure we remain focussed come kick-off, go in to the match feeling confident in our ability to win, but I know we’ll have to work hard and stick to the game plan in order to progress into next month’s final.”
The game v Aberdeen kicks off at 3.15. Prior to this, the first semi between Hibs and Glasgow City takes place at 12.00.
