Interview: We talk to new Spartans SWPL Head Coach Paul Greig

Spartans FC are delighted to unveil Paul Greig as their new Head Coach for the 2018 SWPL 1 campaign.



Greig returns to his native Scotland after successful spells in opposite sides of the world, having coached in both New Zealand and America.



Greig takes over at the helm from Suzy Shepherd in a bid to re-energise the squad that finished fifth in the table following a rollercoaster campaign.



The new manager was introduced to players at a specially convened meeting at Ainslie Park on Monday evening following his selection from a strong field of candidates.


Suzy Departs Spartans

This week Suzy Shepherd made the difficult decision to step down from her role as Head Coach of Spartans.
Suzy joined Spartans as a player in 2013 before her transition to coach in 2016. Suzy’s goal during her spell at the helm was very much a rebuilding job recruiting younger players and building a team capable of challenging at the top of Women’s football. (more…)

Rugby Fuel Sponsor Rachel Harrison

We are absolutely delighted that Rugby Fuel have decided to back Rachel Harrison for the 2017 season. Rachel returned to Spartans after two seasons playing in Italy and Denmark and is currently sixth in the list of players with the most appearances in Spartans colours, having notched up 127 games between the sticks. Her first game was away back in 2010 when she joined from Hutchison Vale. (more…)

U11 Blues leave it late in hard-worked win
