Caley, Caley, Caley, oooh… Reserves hit hosts for 6 in SWFL win
After a free week, Spartans Reserves were back in SWFL action against Edinburgh Caley at The Jewel, writes Kayleigh McNeill
Within 90 seconds of the opening whistle, Sophie Cunningham slotted away a through ball from Nichola Sturrock to open the scoring.
With the wind sweeping through Duddingston Park, Spartans dominated possession and were rewarded with Sturrock’s first of the day on the 20 minute mark. (more…)
Spartans succumb to Celts in SWPL clash
Spartans were left counting the cost of being unable to turn possession into points as Celtic heading back along the M8 with a 0-3 victory for their efforts at a blustery Ainslie Park.

“We’re ready for the battle” – Barnes sounds rally call ahead of Celts clash
Spartans welcome Celtic to Ainslie Park in Round 8 of the 2015 SWPL season with both teams heading into the clash on the back of scoring seven without loss last weekend.
Despite their convincing victories last week, the sides have had an inconsistent start to the league campaign and the respective benches will be looking for three points on Sunday to close the gap at the top of the table. (more…)
Seven goal success in ‘Ness for Spartans
It was seventh heaven for Debbi McCulloch’s Spartans in the SWPL as they defeated Inverness City 0-7 in the Capital of the Highlands.
Scottish Cup Round 2 Draw – Spartans face City
The Scottish Cup Round 2 draw has paired Debbi McCulloch’s Spartans with Glasgow City, to be played at Ainslie Park on Sunday June 21st.
The sides met in the Final of last year’s tournament, where City gained revenge for Katie Reilly’s wonderstrike that ended the Glaswegian sides six year unbeaten domestic record in September last year at Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium in the SWPL.
Flaherty foils Spartans as SWPL clash ends all square
Debbi McCulloch’s makeshift Spartans were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw against Aberdeen at Ainsle Park.
The visitors have goalkeeper Flaherty to thank for their point on the road after the shot-stopper pulled off a string of top drawer saves to keep the Spartans attack at bay.
There was a first start for recent American recruit Morgan Mitchell, whilst Scotland youngster Carla Jackson (pictured) made her way onto the home bench after her long road to recovery after injury. (more…)
