Shepherd signs seven ahead of 2016 SWPL season

Suzy_Shepherd01 Spartans Manager Suzy Shepherd has signed seven new players to bolster her SWPL squad as pre-season gets underway ahead of the 2016 campaign.

A blend of youth and experience have put pen to paper at Ainslie Park as Spartans add to the returning members of the 2015 squad, as reported on the website recently.

It’s a welcome back to Trisha McLaughlin who returns to take part in her 9th season with Spartans whilst we see a familiar surname around the Club join the side in Jen Malone. Her brother Eddie plies his trade with the Men’s Lowland League outfit.

Dion and Simone McMahon are two young exciting talents that will be worth watching this year. Those familiar with the name will remember their sister Natasha who played at the Club in 2014-15. Simone is a recent call up to the National Team’s Under 19s squad.

Danijela Rae has already found her way to goal during a recent bounce game against Hearts whilst striker Laura Gavin knows how to hit the net and we look forward to seeing her name in lights.

Last, but not least, Scotland age-grade defender Jamie-Lee Smith is the latest to join the Spartan Family.
