Spartans Midfielder Simone McMahon put pen to paper earlier this week which sees the 24 year-old play-maker commit to her 5th successive season with the club. After suffering a serious injury back in 2019, McMahon has worked extremely hard to establish herself as a regular within Debbi McCulloch’s SWPL 1 side.
On signing with the club, Simone had the following to say to Spartans F.C. Women: “Going into my 5th season with Spartans, I’m really excited to have signed a semi-pro contract. This is a massive step for the club and I’m extremely grateful to everyone who has made this possible and believed in me.”
“I’m really looking forward to the season ahead and fully expect another demanding and challenging ten months. As a team we will be looking to push on and improve so we can achieve more than we did last season.”
Manager McCulloch is delighted to get another deal confirmed: “Simone has had to be mentally and physically resilient over the past couple of years due to injury. Simone has risen to that challenge every time and is hungry to push on. Her focus and determination has seen her return to her best and I look forward to working closely with Simone over the next 12 months.”
