Spartans Women will face a duo of teams from the newly formed English Women’s Super League in a quartet of pre-season friendlies to begin this Sunday.
Debbi McCulloch’s squad get their first taste of football in 2014 against SWPL 1 newcomers Queen’s Park.
The Spiders travel to Ainslie Park as last season’s SWFL 1st Division Champions and will no doubt be keen to use the friendly as a benchmark of what’s ahead of them in the top flight.
Next up sees the first of two friendlies against sides from the North East of England.
FA Women’s Super League 2 side Durham WFC head north on the 2nd February, in what promises to be a tough cross-Border encounter.
Durham’s side features teenager Zoe Ness who scored 5 goals in 25 minutes last September for Scotland U/19s in their 14-1 UEFA Championship Qualifier against Georgia.
