Stenhouse is a Spartan

Spartans Women is delighted to announce the signing of Jade Stenhouse. Jade joins Spartans after a short and successful spell with Hutchison Vale Girls in the Championship. Prior to this, Jade was part of our Girls Academy for three years, where she played for our Under 19’s National Performance team.

Speaking on returning to the club, Stenhouse said: “I am delighted to sign for Spartans for the upcoming season. The staff and players have been very welcoming and there is a great atmosphere at the club. From speaking to Debbi, and some of the girls, I instantly knew it was something I wanted to be part of.”

“This will be my first season playing SWPL 1 so I’m expecting this season to be a big challenge however our team is full of talented and experienced players and I feel extremely grateful to of been given the opportunity. I’m really looking forward to being part of the Spartans journey and contributing to helping the team deliver our aims and objectives.”

No stranger to Spartans, Stenhouse spoke about her own ambitions: “The club has an exciting vision, big ambitions, and values which match my own. For me, the challenge of playing at the top level really motivates and drives me to do well for the club. My main focus over the past few weeks has been to improve my fitness levels and get up to speed with the pace of the game. As a player, I want to help the team as much as I can whether that be with assists or goals. It will be a challenge but I believe it is one I am ready for.”

Stenhouse is Manager McCulloch’s third pre-season signing as she looks to continue to strengthen the current squad ahead of next Sunday’s SWPL Cup opener against Hamilton Academicals. McCulloch said: “Jade is a player who we have admired for some time now. We kept a close eye on Jade’s development when she was part of our Under 19’s NPL squad as it was clear then that she had the ability to progress to the next level.  From the outside, people won’t know much about Jade but after training, and playing in several friendlies over the past four weeks, she has proven she has the ability to compete and do well.”

Welcome back Jade!
