Spartans return to Ainslie Park for the second time in 2023 to face Motherwell in the SWPL.
Debbi McCulloch’s side will be looking to build momentum after last week’s strong performance. Spartans defeated Hibernian 2-1 in the Edinburgh Derby, Alana Marshall opening the scoring with a wonder strike into the top corner. Hannah Jordan would later get in on the goals, Mya Bates providing the assist just three minutes after coming onto the pitch to round off the win.
Motherwell put in a strong midweek performance to secure a point on the road at the Excelsior Stadium against third placed Celtic. Second placed Rangers proved too strong for Paul Brownlie’s side on the Sunday, as they were defeated 7-0.
When the two sides met earlier this season, Spartans took a 2-0 lead into the half with goals from Smart and Marshall. Motherwell were afforded two penalties in the second half which were dispatched by McDonald-Nguah to earn see both teams leave K-Park with a point.
Kick off this Sunday is at 1pm and the match up will prove a crucial three points in either teams top six hopes. Tickets are available via Fanbase here or on the gate.
If you can’t make the trip to Ainslie Park the game will be streamed live via Recast TV here.
