Spartans host top of the table Glasgow City in the final game of 2022 as they look to return to winning ways in the SWPL. Both sides come into the game having had a week off as the league took a break for some Sky Sports Cup action.
Glasgow City come into the game in good form. Sunday’s visitors are two points clear at the top of the SWPL, undefeated so far in their league campaign. Last time out, Gleeson’s side had to come from behind to defeat Hibernian 2-1 in the second half..
Spartans currently lie 8th in the table, a win on Sunday could see Debbi McCulloch’s side move up to 5th. In their last SWPL fixture, Spartans drew 1-1 with Aberdeen at the Balmoral Stadium, a stunning Mason strike from range earning the side a point on the road.
At the game, Spartans will be supporting the Spartans Community Winter Appeal. Supporters are encouraged to bring along their once loved winter garments, such as jackets and jumpers, to donate to those in need. Donations can be dropped off at The Academy from now until January 9th with all clothing being recycled or re-used to local community partners and schools in the surrounding area.
Tickets for Sunday’s fixture are available to buy both online and at the gate. Online tickets are available here.
