Lewis Melee joins the Seniors

Former Youth Coach Lewis Melee joins the Senior Women backroom team, a Bsc Honours Degree student studying Sport and Exercise at Abertay University, Dundee, will be aiding his coursework with hands-on experience under the watchful eye of Manager Debbi McCulloch and Head Coach Mike Ross.

The 19 year old has been involved at the Club since he was 8 years of age and continued to play in Spartans colours until he was 15.

His new role sees the teenager helping out at the three-times weekly training sessions when his studies allow and he’ll be involved in match-days with a focus on stats, analysis and input from the bench.

After hanging up the boots to concentrate on his studying, Lewis returned to the Academy, taking up Coaching and with the U/14s boys team, he went on to guide them towards winning the League Cup in his first year as coach.

From there he moved into Girls football, coaching the U/13s and latterly the U/17s girls where he gained his SFA Levels 1 & 3 Youth, Adult badges and Lewis is currently working towards his C Licence.
Lewis said, “At the end of 2013 I was offered the opportunity to work with the Seniors and I felt it too good an opportunity to pass up. I hope to take the skills and knowledge I have gleaned over the last few years with the Youths and develop these by working with Debbi and Mike. (more…)
