Tartan Spartan Five get National Camp stamp of approval

ballFive Tartan Spartans will feature in a trio of forthcoming Scotland International Squad Training Camps.

Goalkeeper Rachel Harrison and 2014 SWPL Player of the Year Kerry Montgomery have earned another call-up to Anna Signeul’s training camp this weekend.

2015 sees Signeul’s Scots kick-off their bid to qualify for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2017 Championships in the Netherland.

Debbi McCulloch’s latest signing Carla Jackson is included in the 22 player strong Under 19s training camp, also being held this weekend.

Former Hibernian FC player Gareth Evans will use the two-centre sessions to build for their UEFA European Championship Elite Round ties v Germany, Belgium and Ukraine as the side aim to reach the Finals in Israel for the second consecutive year.

In February, Eartha Cumings and Ronaigh Douglas will take part in Pauline Hamill’s Under 17s Toryglen Training Camp.  The Spartans youngsters were in the party that travelled to Croatia last October.  Hamill’s side are set to travel to Belgium next month for an International Challenge Match.

Spartans Manager Debbi McCulloch said of the announcements, “This is fantastic news for the five girls involved and we as a Club are extremely proud of them.   To be represented across three different levels is a great way for the players to kick-off 2015 and I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with them at Spartans.”
